Practices temporarily cancelled due to COVID-19

EVENTS

March 16, 2020: Practices cancelled due to COVID-19 closures. Our skaters are encouraged to maintain their fitness individually from home. June 3, 2020: With the OK from BC Health Officials for small groups to gather while socially distanced, Betties in good health may skate at our outdoor practice space. July 2020: We always take July & Aug off from practices, but - as long as health recommendations allow & our skaters are healthy - you may see us in small groups at the Airpark, local skate parks, & our outdoor space. Intro to roller skating starts Jan 2020

Treat yourself for the holidays with our “Intro to Roller Skating” sessions at Cumberland Recreation in the new year! Jan. 12 – Mar. 15. $80 + GST / 10 sessions. Ages 18+. Sundays 9:00-10:30 AM. Members of the Brick House Betties teach skills such as falls, stops, cross-overs, derby stance & more. Dance Crew also available to teach basic roller dance moves. Registration required. Contact: www.cumberland.ca/recreation or 250-336-2231 or in person at the CRI. Need to borrow gear to get started? Once registered, please contact us here with shoe size & general clothing size. We’ll try to find loaner skates & protective padding. New skaters must bring their own mouth guard (available at sports stores), helmet (hockey, snow sports, or bike is OK) & water bottle.
